INTRODUCTION OF US

Our Foundation Backgroud

Nelson Nkalubo Sebugwawo Foundation was founded in 2007. This was the brainchild of Mr. Nkalubo Nelson Sebugwawo. The intention was to promote the values for which he stands and also to ensure that the family and community continue to gain from his works. It was agreed that the foundation be led by Mr. Sebugwawo as the patron. It has a board of trustees made up of the children and a board of Directors made up of the grandchildren.

REGISTERED ADDRESS

The registered Physical Address of the Foundation shall be situated at Nkumba Village, and postal address shall be P.O Box 566 ENTEBBE, Uganda. The Foundation may however open such other offices/ branches and at such places within the country as the circumstances may warrant.

NATURE

The Foundation is a Family incorporation organization and non-political in all its activities. The nature is further described in the objectives and activities to be decided by the Members of the Foundation.

OBJECTIVES

The Foundation is established to make, assist and support the welfare of its members and immediate communities through economic and social programs, projects and activities.

OUR VISION

To have well educated and financially independent individuals mindful of the welfare and preservation of their family heritage and communities.

OUR MISSION

To promote the welfare of people, by supporting education and economic sustainability of individuals so that they may cater to their wellbeing; as well as offer support to the social development of the community and to preserve good cultural values and heritage.

Who we are

We are a Ugandan, culturally oriented, development not-for-profit organization. Founded by The Late Nelson Nkalubo Sebugwawo, we notably leverage culture to spur development.

ACTIVITIES
  • The Foundation shall conduct the following activities:-
  • Use the assets of the Foundation to meet the foundation’s objectives and mission for which the Foundation was established and/or the members of the Foundation may decide the Foundations’ mission and objectives.
  • Hold property as may be decided by the trustees. The Foundations’ property shall not be sold, mortgaged and/or pledged without the express unanimous Written Consent of the Trustees; and approval of 51% of the members.

 

  • To receive and accept financial assistance, grants, donations, subscriptions, endorsements, gifts (both inter-vivos and testamentary) and loans with or without interest, property movable or immovable, whatsoever subject or not to any specific conditions.
  • To undertake, execute and perform project(s) on the Foundations’ property or elsewhere on property acquired either by way of gift or otherwise.

 

  • To purchase, lease, hire, take in exchange and/or otherwise deal in all or any part of any undertaking, property and/or rights of the Foundation.

 

  • To improve, manage, develop and or otherwise deal in all or any part of any undertaking, property and/or rights of the Foundation.

 

  • To own and acquire property in the form of Land, buildings, machinery, vehicles and any other equipment necessary to realize the objectives of the Foundation.

 

  • To enter into any arrangement with any organization, government or authority as may be advantageous to the Foundation or its activities, and to obtain from any such organization, government or authority any charter, right, privilege or concession, as which the Foundation may think it desirable, and carry out, exercise and comply with any such charters, rights, privileges and concession.

 

  • To invest monies of the Foundation that is not immediately required for the purposes of its activities in such investments, financial instruments, securities and/or real estate in any part of Uganda and that in such manner as may from time to time be considered beneficial to the Foundation.

 

  • To carry on (whether on its own or in partnership or association with others) any such projects and/or businesses which may seem to the Foundation capable of being conveniently carried on in connection or in conjunction with the objects of the Foundation or calculated directly or indirectly to enhance the value of or render more profitable any of the Foundations’ property.
  • To subscribe, take, purchase and otherwise acquire and hold shares, stocks, debenture and other interests in any company.

 

  • To subscribe and make contributions to or otherwise support different bodies whether incorporated or unincorporated to make donations for any purpose connected with the activities of the Foundation or in furtherance of its objects, provided such bodies or organizations are approved by the Foundation in a general meeting.
